Hi, I’m Bill Gottlin.

About Me

My totems are adventure, quiet thought and learning.

Native of Jersey City, New Jersey, transplant to Connecticut.

I have started and run two successful businesses, written three six e-books, travelled to over 40 countries and lift weights at CrossFit four days per week. Current challenge: preparing for a half-marathon in September with my daughter. I am up to six miles running at the moment.

I enjoy semi-prepared solo adventures (that’s why they are adventures). A few years ago, I cycled from New York City to Philadelphia to raise money for the East Coast Greenway project. I aIso solo-cycled from Battery Park at the tip of Manhattan to Albany on the Empire State Trail and separately from Buffalo to Albany, also on the EST. I have cycled the length of beautiful New Jersey, from High Point in the hilly northwest corner to Cape May on the sandy southwest tip of the state, aiming to cycle as many rail trails as possible (in many different conditions).

I have travelled with my family to Iceland, Bolivia, Botswana and Japan.

I read mostly history, biography and triumph over adversity adventure books, but I cast a wide net.

My current business: Aspire HR Consulting, providing virtual HR services to small business clients.

I have written 6 books on HR management and processes, my audience is start ups, CEOs, CFOs, and executives with responsibility for handling hiring, onboarding, and employee management. My style is short and actionable content that you can use today.
